Respect in Sport
The goal of the Respect in Sport Programs is to ensure the safety and well-being of participants, to encourage proper communication with officials and coaches, and to make sport and recreation activities a positive experience for all.
Respect in Sport for Parents Program
– At least one parent or guardian from each household of a participant must take the on-line program. The cost is $12 per family. It consists of six modules, each one lasting about 10 mins. The court must be completed before the participant begins their regular season session/game and is a condition of their eligibility for participation. The online course can be accessed here:
Respect in Sport for Hockey Canada Parents - Getting Started (respectgroupinc.com)
You need only take this course once. Upon completion of the program, you will be provided with a certification number. If you have multiple players in your household, you only have to take the course once, however, you need to ensure that all of your players are linked in your RIS Parent profile. If you have taken the course in the pass, you can link your players. The Parent Program differs from the RIS for Coaches and Activity Leaders Program, therefore, parents that have taken the Coaches and Activity Leaders Program must still take the Parent Program.
Respect in Sport for Coaches and Activity Leaders Program
– Respect in Sport is a mandatory training program for all volunteers working with youth in Minor Hockey including coaches, managers and trainers. The cost is $30 per person. It consists of six modules, each one lasting about 30 mins. The online course can be accessed here:
