Hockey Parents – Important Info

Fees

- Registration.  This fee comes in three (3) installments (due at Registration, in September and in  October).  You can pay this via Cheques or Credit.  If you choose to pay the amount in full at the time of registration, you can pay via Cheque, Credit or EMT.  Funding is available to assist in offsetting registration costs through Jump Start and the Hockey Canada Fund - see links on RMHA website.
- Team Fees – Every HL team in RMHA receives an allotment for away tournaments. Every rep team receives an allotment to offset their ice and officials' expense. Depending on age groups, expect to play in approx. 3 tournaments per year-5 tournaments per year.  The team fees will help to offset cost of these tournaments. Beyond tournaments, Team Fees are used for year-end gifts, team-building events and other items the executive approves.

- Evaluation Jersey.  This fee is paid at time of registration.  This jersey is used at the time of evaluations, and may later be used for practices.  Your player gets to keep this jersey. This is for U9 Level & Up.

- Fundraising fee.  This is also paid at the time of registration, however this is optional to pay.  You may pay the fee, which exempts you from all fundraising activities during the season.  Or you may choose to waive the fee, and participate in our fundraising activities.

- Home Tournament Fee – this fee helps to provide raffle items/misc. costs associated with running a tournament. This fee applies to U7 Level & Up.

- Cost of Hotel stays – at the level U11 and up, away tournaments are encouraged, so expect that there will be a cost for hotel stay, and your conveniences (food, shopping etc.)

Participation

- Home Tournaments are a lot of work and HL teams work together to run this. (Rep teams host their own) For example, 3 x U11 HL teams run 1 tournament.  Each team will require parents to volunteer for shifts at raffle tables, bake sale etc.

- If you choose not to pay the fundraising fee, Tag Day and the sale of Raffle Tickets are mandatory.

- Some coaches will require players to participate in off-ice training (approx. 1 hour) prior to on-ice practice times.

- Managers are needed for each team.  They will help with rescheduling games, booking tournaments, arranging travel, organizing home tournaments and taking care of jerseys.  Creating/following a budget, collecting team fees, organizing team events.
