Registration fees This fee can be paid in full at time of registration or in three (3) installments (due at Registration, in September and in October). For those wishing to pay in installments, you may pay with either post-dated cheques or a credit card on file. For those wishing to pay in full you will be able to pay with cheque, Etransfer or credit card. There will be no installments available for those wishing to pay with Etransfer

Funding may be available to assist in offsetting registration costs through Jump Start and/or the Hockey Canada Fund.

Fundraising feeThis is also paid at the time of registration. The fundraising fee has increased to $100 per player for the season. If you choose not to pay the fee, it is mandatory that your player participates in two fundraising endeavors through RMHA – such as TAG Day and selling raffle tickets. If you pay the fee, you will be exempt from having to participate in fundraising activities during the season.

Evaluation Jersey This fee is paid at time of registration. All U9-U18 players are required to have an RMHA evaluation/practice jersey. If you have an evaluation jersey from last year and it still fits, you are not required to purchase a new evaluation jersey for this season. If your player does not have one or would like to replace theirs from last year, you must check the box and add a jersey ($25) to your registration. This jersey is used during evaluations and may later be used for practices. Your player will keep this jersey.

Team Fees Every House League team in RMHA receives an allotment from RMHA for away tournaments. Every Rep team receives an allotment to offset their ice and officials expense. Depending on the age group, teams can expect to play in 3-4 tournaments per year. Team fees will be set by your manager and help cover the cost of these tournaments. The main fundraiser for teams is their home tournament. Team fundraising is not permitted outside of this.

PARTICIPATION
Players can expect to have 2-3 ice times per week, consisting of practices and games.

Some coaches may also require players to participate in off-ice training (approx. 1 hour) prior to on-ice practice times.

RMHA is part of District 5 – Upper Ottawa Valley Minor Hockey League (UOVMHL). District 5 covers an area from Arnprior to Deep River and Barry’s Bay. Depending on the age group, practices and games can be scheduled on weeknights and weekends.

Depending on the age group, you can expect to participate in 3-4 away tournaments and may have expenses of travel and hotel.

Volunteers

RMHA relies on volunteers. Without parents and community support we would not be able to run a successful minor hockey program. Volunteer bench staff is required for each team. You are encouraged to volunteer for a position on or off the ice if you can

Coaches, Assistant Coaches & Trainers are needed for each team. Volunteer coaches are essential for our season and player development.

Managers are also required for each team. A team manager has an important role to keep a team organized and the season running smoothly.

If you would like to volunteer in any of these positions, please reach out to an Executive Member. RMHA will reimburse bench staff who successfully complete the appropriate certifications in which their involvement is pre-approvedSee the Bench Staff tab for more information on courses required.

Home Tournaments

The main fundraiser for teams is their home tournament. Home Tournaments are a lot of work and require a significant amount of planning and support of volunteers. The team managers for each division will run their own home tournament. Volunteers are essential to running a successful tournament. Parents will be asked to volunteer for shifts at raffle tables, bake sale etc. Managers will collect a home tournament fee to help with the expenses of preparing for and running a home tournament. All proceeds from your home tournament go back to your team to offset the cost of away tournaments, team activities and year end gifts/party.
